Date-specific preferences let you set one-off requests, and recurring preference for a weekly pattern. Your preferences will be accommodated as much as possible within the confines of other needs of the roster. The preference options available to you are from the settings your roster admin has configured.
Add a date-specific preference
Open Schedule > My preferences.
Check the location and select the date you want to request.

Select Done when you have finished.

Select a recurring entry to replace its shift or choose Delete to remove it.
If recurring preferences are unavailable, your location may have disabled staff recurring requests. Ask your roster administrator which requests you can make.
When two preferences conflict
A date-specific preference takes precedence over your recurring preference for that date. For example, you might usually prefer the Night shift each Friday but request a day off on one particular Friday. The date-specific choice replaces the usual preference for that Friday; it does not make the day off guaranteed.
Mark an important preference
If your location offers special preferences:
Choose Special in the mobile preference editor. Desktop employee web may label this control Make it special.
Choose the shift or group you want to request.
Special preferences receive more weight than normal preferences, and may need approval depending on your location's setup.

Reserve them for the requests that matter most. A special preference still does not override all staffing and roster requirements or guarantee the shift you want.
When the roster is published, see your assigned shifts in See your published shifts. A saved preference is not an allocation.
If a preference choice is missing
Ask your administrator about the shift types and preference settings available for your roster.
