Clock in and out of your shifts

Record your worked time, track breaks and know what to do if an entry needs correcting.

Timesheets record the time you work for your manager to review. If your organisation uses employee timesheets, you can clock in and out from the Shifts section of the RosterLab app or mobile employee web view.

Open your timesheet

  1. Open Shifts, then select Timesheet.

  2. Check the selected month and the location shown on the entry.

  3. To see earlier entries, select Show past timesheets. Use Show older or Show all when offered.

  4. Find the date and shift you want to review.

If Timesheet is missing, ask your roster administrator whether employee timesheets are enabled for your roster.

Clock in and out

The shift clock is available when you have an assigned shift. Record when you actually start and finish working.

  1. Open the clock panel above your timesheet entries by selecting its shift summary bar.

  2. When you start work, add a Comment if needed, then select Clock In.

  3. Check that the panel shows ON SHIFT and your clock-in time. If an error appears, follow the message rather than assuming the time was recorded.

  4. When you finish work, open the clock panel, add a comment if needed, and select Clock Out.

  5. Check the recorded start and finish times on the completed entry.

A short comment can explain a difference from your planned hours—for example, “Stayed 15 minutes to complete handover.”

Record a break

  1. While clocked in, open the clock panel and select Start break when you begin your break.

  2. When you return, select End break to resume your shift.

Your break is recorded alongside your worked time. Follow your organisation’s process if you need to correct a break or record one that is not supported by the controls shown.

Correct a mistake

  • Clocked out too soon: if the Undo message is still showing, select it to return to your shift. If it is no longer available, ask your manager to correct the entry.

  • Clocked in by accident or missed a clock action: tell your manager the date, actual times and what needs correcting.

  • If manual editing is available: use it only for the worked-time entry you need to correct, and explain the change in the note. Availability depends on your organisation’s settings and the entry’s approval state. Manual changes are identified for your manager’s review.

If an entry is already approved or you cannot edit it, ask your manager to make the correction. Do not create a second entry to compensate for an incorrect one.

After you clock out

Your recorded time is available for your manager to review. Clocking out does not mean the entry is approved. Check its status in your timesheet: Unconfirmed and Pending Approval are not approved time. Approval of a time entry is separate from payroll processing.

If you work at more than one location

Select one location before clocking in or out. Timesheet availability and manual-editing settings can differ between locations or assigned rosters. Check the location on an entry before recording or correcting time.
