Overview
Shift View organises your schedule by shifts and duties across dates, rather than by employee rows. This makes it easy to see staffing levels for each shift and who is assigned to each slot.
Navigating and Using Shift View
Switching views: On the myroster page, you can toggle between Employee View (rows by staff member) and Shift View (rows by shift or demand).
Show/Hide filter: Customise your display by toggling specific shift rows on or off using the Show/Hide filter.
Hover for allocation details: Hover over an allocation in Shift View to see more specific information about it. For example, everyone in a Morning row might have different tasks assigned to them, and hovering will show each person's specific allocation and times.
How Shift View Rows Are Created
Rows in Shift View are generated automatically from your Demands configuration.
Configuring a demand for a shift or task:
Whenever you create a demand targeting a specific shift (e.g. day or evening) or a specific shift and task combination (e.g. Day - Clinic), a corresponding row is created in Shift View.
The order rows appear in is determined by the order your demands are stacked in the demands tab.
Using "No AI" demands (display only):
If you want a shift to appear in Shift View for visual tracking or manual drag-and-drop assignment, without the AI optimiser actively solving or enforcing staffing quotas for it, add a Want (No AI) demand for that shift.
Requirements for a Row to Appear
For a demand to generate a row in Shift View, it:
Must specify a shift or task: Generic demands covering "all shifts" without a specific task selected will not create a distinct Shift View row.
Must have non-zero or active requirements: Demands set to Minimum 0 or All NA across the entire period will not build Shift View rows.
Staffing Flags
Shift View will flag when you are exceeding or not meeting your demand values, so you can spot overstaffed and understaffed slots at a glance. This flagging is available to all users, on both free and paid plans.
For paid users, your demand values do double duty: as well as flagging violations, your demand minimum, maximum, and exact values are taken into account by the AI solver when generating your roster. Free users can use the flags to correct staffing manually.
Allocations Not Tied to a Demand
Shifts assigned to employees that are not tied to a demand will not populate into Shift View by default. To see these, press Show all allocations, and a new row called Hidden from view will appear containing the employees names. Hover over each name to see what shifts they are working.
Sharing Shift View
Your Shift View can be shared via Live Schedule, letting others see the shift-organised view of your roster.
