Different scenarios on how to set staffing numbers

Examples of staffing numbers

A typical set of demands would be a minimum, and a maximum for all worked hours in the roster, broken up by each time period. This would cover the general staffing numbers required, e.g.

  • A critical importance minimum from 6am - 3pm for 4 people on Mondays to Fridays and 3 people on Saturday to Sunday
  • A high-importance maximum of 5 people from 6am to 3pm for 4 people on Mondays to Fridays and 3 people on Saturday to Sunday (the same time window as above)
  • A high-importance target of 3 people from 3pm to 7pm, Monday to Sunday
  • Critical importance of minimum 1 person doing CT task during a morning shift
  • Another common demand is for at least some number of senior staff to be present, e.g. A high importance minimum demand from 6am to 7pm with the 'senior' skill for 1 person on Monday to Sunday

Please note: the AI does not currently assume demands. It can be a good idea to put a maximum for all demands that have a minimum. If the maximum and minimum are the same amounts, consider using a target demand instead.
